The Seven Deadly Sins Vs. The Bible
According to Catholic theology, the seven deadly sins are seven negative character qualities, if left not handled, will result in a host of other sins and eventually kill a person’s soul. The seven deadly sins are pride, envy, gluttony, lust, anger, greed and sloth.
Is the idea of the seven deadly sins biblical? Yeas and no. In Proverbs 6:16-19 it does list seven things that are detestable to God. But no sin is anymore ‘deadly’ than another. All sin results in death (Romans 6:23) Christ took the penalty of all sin, including the “seven deadly sins”
This idea was loosely inspired by the Bible and should in no way take the place of the scriptures. All sin is the same in God’s eyes, but praise God for his grace and mercy.
What Does it Mean When It Reads ‘Jesus is My Portion’?
Psalm 16:5, David says, “The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup; you hold my lot.”

The “inheritance” is a reference to the allotment of land given to Israel when they entered the Promised Land. (Number 26:52-56; Joshua 14:1-5)
So when we read or hear that Jesus is our portion/inheritance of his people. This inheritance is given to all believers. And this inheritance includes the kingdom of God and all his blessings, both now and into the future.
If Christ is our portion, then He is the source of all we need. (Jeremiah 10:16 and Hebrews 9:15)
