I’m Not Satisfied

In life, we are constantly learning and growing. There are different chapters, stages and even titles we gain throughout our lives. We are in a continual state of learning and growing and changing. Though there are some of us who are content with our place in life. We are settled in our routine, our home, our jobs or personal growth. We think our learning and growing is done cause we have achieved all we sought out to do, worked to the level we wanted and checked off all the boxes. So now what?

Now before you all panic; this is not to say that stability, goals, working hard and feeling content is wrong. I am not saying that at all. What I am saying is in the life of a believer, our spiritual growth, we should never be satisfied with, ‘just enough’. Cause as long as you are alive you will always be growing in Christ. (2 Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.) Each day we have to die to our desires, wants, motives, thoughts, goals and plans and give it over to Christ each day. We do this to be filled up with God’s plans, His desires, His goals, His thoughts, His wants so we can fulfill his purpose. Exude His glory every day. (2 Corinthians 2:15 – Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God. But this fragrance is perceived differently by those who are being saved and by those who are perishing.) Christians should never be satisfied with just enough church, with just enough prayer, just enough fellowship, just enough of God’s spirit. We need to get ourselves consumed with as much of Christ as we possibly can.

When you realize that you will never be satisfied with just enough, God will fill you up with all you need to fulfill your purpose. (Ephesians 3:19 – …and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.) When you realize that you will never be satisfied with just enough, God will transform your mind. (Romans 12:2 – Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.) When you realize that you will never be satisfied with just enough, God will change your attitude when troubles come your way. (John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”)

We should want more of Christs’ presence. More of His heart, His spirit, rather than just His blessings. I have even had to reshape the way I’ve thought of Christ. Instead of seeing God as some genie or someone I call out to because I need him to fix my problems, I had to focus on the character and the magnitude of who God is, and He is our Savior, Redeemer, Comforter, friend, our joy, our peace, our strength and so much more, every single day. The scariest thought for a believer to have, is the thought where we are satisfied in our walk with Christ. We should never be satisfied. Our work in the Lord is never going to end. There will always be more we can do. More ways we can grow. More ways we can share. So lets never be satisfied.
