What do you do when you feel like God is keeping you in the same place? I’ve asked this question in some form or another more than once in my life. Why am I not moving? I won’t lie, I’m even asking that question now. I try my best not to question God’s timing and his plans, but when you have so many plans of your own and need that next step to happen and it doesn’t, you can get antsy and start to worry and question everything. Especially when you have followed God’s instruction, know the goal and are doing the work and still…nothing. That’s what makes me go crazy the most. But what if us being still is God’s way of having us prepare for something bigger? What if it is to help us? So then what do we do when we feel stuck? When we feel God is keeping us in one place? To be honest. there is no easy answer or one answer. So here are a few tips tp keep a level head and to trust God when we don’t know when He will move next.
Listen to God. Keep focused on His Words Hebrews 12:1-2 – So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. During the times when you feel the most anxious, that the time we all need to focus on the overall goal. It can be very easy to get rattled when things are not moving, cause that’s when we want to take matters into out own hands. We want to help God speed up the process. But in reality we have no choice but to wait. Though as we wait we need to remember who is in control and who we follow, no matter how we feel.
God is Still With You Isaiah 41:10 – So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. In moments like these are actually when God’s presence is truly there the most. We may not feel it, especially when we have been in one place for so long. But this is the time we need to be reminded that he will never leave us and is always present even when we feel stuck.
Realize That Some Things We have to Endure Romans 5:3 – Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, In life we are never going to get better by having all things that come our way be easy. We can’t grow that way. We will need those moments that may be recurring over and over to teach us a specific lesson or to have us become stronger or to transform us or to get our breakthrough from a certain situation. So we may be stuck but its not in vain. God will always bring us out better than we were, when we went in.
