As women, we are great. We are resourceful. We are comforters. We are sisters. We are best friends. We are advice givers and even more. We are all that God created us to be. (Psalm 139:14 – I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well.) So why go against that? There is a plan for each of us. God has already mapped it all out. Our stories are already written. Yet we think we can change them by going against His will. Or try to tell God our plans and see if he will bless what we’ve come up with. That’s one I’m guilty of.
I think the hardest thing about following Christ is well…following Christ. We can get so caught up in our own ways, and ideas, plans and think our way is the only way. So it can be hard to hand over our will to His will. Change does not come easy. But what we have to realize is that God’s plan is not changing. We, ourselves have to commit to his calling and plans for our lives, cause if we don’t we’re adding unnecessary strain to our relationship with Christ. He calls for us to come to Him, He calls for us to trust him and follow Him. (1 Corinthians 11:1 – Be imitators of me, just as I also am of Christ.) We can’t do that while still holding onto our way of life. Thinking that we are the one’s in control, when we truly are not. It causes confusion and distorts God’s design when we are not committed to God’s will. When we know God and know his word and make it our mission to fulfill his mission, everyday, as often as we can, we are His true disciples. (Luke 14:27 – “Whoever does not carry his own cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.) So don’t go against the plan. Everything that happens in our lives, both good and bad, is used for the glory of God. Now I won’t say that everything He tells us to do we’ll be 100% excited and willing to go forth and do, but along the way we can ask for His help and understanding and keep in mind the mission is not just for us. We are one small part of his big plan he decided to use us for. Fear, doubt, worry will come, but that should not stop us nor have us push against Christ’s goal and try to have it fit what we think will work better instead. God’s plan for salvation, redemption and the Gospel of Jesus Christ was set before we were born. Our goal is to get on board and follow Him or be left behind. (Matthew 16:24 – Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.) So let’s follow the one who is in control of everything on our lives. Don’t push back.
