Last week I left you with a verse for the weekend that I felt spoke to me and many other women. this verse depicts the direct cause and effect of what happens when you work hard and what happens when you do not. This is my verse for the year that I have adopted along with a few others. I wanted to elaborate more on the topic of opportunities and what that means. We seek chances to better ourselves, better our careers, our home life our spiritual life and so much more. Grabbing opportunities when they come our way. Its pretty common. If you want to reach that goal in life; whatever that goal is you have to seek out those chances. Some are slim and hard come at times while others are all over the place. But what do you do when there are opportunities at all. There are no outlets for you to grow, branch out, become better, elevate yourself towards. What then? Do we stay content in what we have. After all God wants us to be grateful for what he’s given us. Work with what we have as though its as good as its going to get. But that not the mind set God wants us to have. We are all blessed with gifts and talents to impact the world. There are no small gifts especially when in God’s hands. We just have to learn how to make the most of it. How? How do we make the most of what God has given us?
By Not Down Playing Your Talents 1 Corinthians 12:6 – There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work. We women are award winners at comparing ourselves to other women. I don’t know why but each time someone comes our way that may have a little more or a little less than us, we start chopping at our selves until there is nothing left. Let’s remember who created us and filled us with his spirit. So the same spirit your sister has, you have. Your talents may not be the same but we share what we have individually with others so that may see God’s light in us. There is no need to compare when we all have the same goal. to win those to Christ with the talents he has given us
By Staying Focused Philippians 4:13 – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. When we remain focused on our goals and focus on the bigger picture and not just the moment, we can accomplish things that even will surprise ourselves. We can have ideas that will start a movement. We can believe beyond the now and into the future God has for us. But we can only get there by staying focused on his will. We can achieve so much when small distractions and set backs instead remind us of what is to come instead of what is lost.
By Creating Opportunities Matthew 7:7 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. It’s good to seek out opportunities. To grab a hold of it when you can, cause hey, those are doors the Lord has opened for you. Those are prayers answered. So of course, grab it. But lets not forget the opportunities that would not exist unless someone created them on their own. (With the help of the Lord, of course) If you have a gift or talent that you see may be missing from your church, your community, your school, work, home, wherever, map out a plan to be the one to bring about the change you want to see. Many ideas came out of people seeing a need and then finding a solution. Maybe your not finding the opportunities you need to grow and sow in is because your the one who God knows will be creating the opportunity. They say opportunity is knocking at the door but in your case you need to make the door for others to seek in the future. Gods kingdom needs more of us to embrace the gifts and talents he’s poured into us. He wants to use us for a bigger purpose. We have to get past ourselves and work hard to make his will happen in our lives. We have all we need inside us. We just have to embrace it and execute faith along the way.
