Growing up, I was never the most talkative. Still not. But what I have learned is that I don’t have to be the loudest one in the room, so to speak in order to be seen as vital. I remember in college when I had to have an evaluation about my artwork through the year so far and I was so nervous. As the professors were going through my work and I began to explain my ideas and format I was interested in, one of my professors noted that I was not the most talkative student. That I was pretty quiet. But when I did have something to say it was ‘meaningful’. That is something I have always remembered and that was the day I never questioned myself about my own personality again. Usually I’m not one to need someone to validate me, but that day changed so much for me in the best way and I’m grateful for it.
A lot of times we do question if we are enough, if we need to be more, but the Lord reminds us just how well we are crafted and that we do not need more or less. We are perfectly his just the way He made us. (“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” – Ephesians 2:10) God is always near to remind us on the good days and bad that we are his peaople. Daughters who are being perfected with help from grace and mercy that is new everyday. We are not perfect, but the parts that make us uniquely, well…us, are parts that we shoud embrace and not second guess. I know I’m not he boldest in the room, but when its time to stand up for my God and my brothers and sisters in Christ, I know what I say will be meaningful and vital, just like you are. Love.
Psalm 139:13-14 – You alone created my inner being. You knitted me together inside my mother. I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.
