A Changed Heart

We know how simple it is to accept that free gift of salvation. Hey, God intended for it to be easy. Jesus did the hard part. But what does not always come easy is a change of heart. This comes over time and is not instant, but you have to choose to follow Christ with your whole heart. And you have to choose Christ each day you get up and decide to choose his will over your own. Discipleship is a process and it doesn’t happen in one day. But let’s think about it for a moment. With any transformation in life big or small, whether its health change or a attitude change or a moving change or even a hair change it requires letting go of some things, requires altering habits, altering your routine, altering your perspective. So when you honestly give up your will for the Lord’s will its no different. You are choosing to have a changed heart. And this is not easy, but it is possible with the help of the Lord. Cause when you have a changed heart you really are transformed by the Lord. Your are made new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 – Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new) So What is Required To Have A Changed Heart?

Commitment No Matter The Cost: Proverbs 16:3- Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans. When you want to have a changed anything, you have to be committed to the task. Our goal as believers is to make God’s glory known to the world. Living a life pleasing for his name sake. Our will is His will. And in order to do that we have to set our minds on Jesus and commit our time, talents and possession, even when we may not feel like it. Cause trust me, there will be days when you don’t feel like praying, days when you don’t feel like praising, days even when it feels like God has stepped away. But remember what you are committed to and who you are committed to. God looks at your work and your labor and knows it is not in vain. Nothing is wasted.

Making God Apart of Your Day to Day: 1 Corinthians 10:31 – So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. When we start to notice that even our regular tasks can bring joy to the Lord, we begin to change our attitude about why we do, what we do. There is a bit more pep in our step as tasks that used to feel like a burden or a chore turn into a task glory and pleasure for His name. You even begin to notice how blessed you are moving about your day and thanking God for the little things like running water, AC, plates to eat from, clothes, your job, (even if its not perfect) All this stems from putting God in every action and decision you make.

Get To Know Jesus John 10:14 – “I am the good shepherd, and I know My own and My own know Me, Since you are now apart of the family, the best way to get to the know the Father of your new family is by spending time with him. That’s how any of us get to know just about anybody, right? So when wanting to get to know Jesus even more, we go to the Bible, which is our ultimate guide for anything we need. And certainly all things Jesus. Just know, to be considered apart of the family of God we have to obey and commit to what the Lord says and live out lives that are committed to his mission and will.
