Speak Life

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. – Proverbs 18:21

It is definitely hard to see past the rain and the fog that comes our way. And we know that rain will come. So what do you do when the fog is so thick you can’t see the atmosphere? Well, one of the simplest things you can do is speak life into the atmosphere.

I’m one of those persons who firmly believes that what you speak can shape your present and you future. The past is already done, so you have to move ahead. So move forward by speaking life not death. Our words are so powerful and we can choose to either use it to stoke negative feelings or choose to stoke positive reinforcement on a daily basis. And not just for ourselves. We can make it a habit to build up our brothers and sister in Chirst and even those who are not believers. Encouragement and blessings are embraced by everyone. (Ephesians 4:29- Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.)

What you think about yourself matters. And all that’s reflected in your words. Build yourself up in the Lord and repeat back strong affirmations that can see you into the future. One of my favorite ones that sums up even what Sassy Sexy Saved is all about is Song of Songs 4:7 – You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. That right there reads to me that the Lord is pleased with me. So that speaks life in so many ways, especially on a bad day. So lets keep it simple this week and speak life into our lives.

Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. – 1 Peter 3:10
