As women there are many things that the world tells us we can’t do or shouldn’t do, because women just don’t do that. Whatever that is. From holding a certain position in the workplace, to dressing a certain way or living a life that is conducive to our gender.
But God called us to do more, to be more then the expectations and opinions of the world we live in. We all have a purpose, a brilliant destiny that we’re reaching for that God has intended for us. (“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5) God has already known you and loved you from the beginning before you were ever born. And even set us up with a purpose for our lives. So how can we be more than the status quo? More than the opinions of others?
1. Ignore the opinions of others ( For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people. – 1 Peter 2:15)
This can be hard to do because words can hurt and if you are that person that values the opinions of others, especially from friends or family this can be a challenge. But if remember this life we’re living we’re not living it for other we’re living it for the Lord and he orders our steps and he is the one who will direct us through the good, bad and the easy and difficult.
2. Seek the heart of God (But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. – Deuteronomy 4:29) As believers, its vital to seek the Lord at every turn. When we draw near to God he will draw near to us. And we will then hear from the Lord. Especially through his word and prayer. Two components that bring us into God’s embrace even that much more. We have no limit when we link up with God’s power and we have no limit when it comes to our future. Our potential is limitless.
