All that we do, all that we are is wrapped up in who God is. And who is God? Well, for starters, he’s the creator of everything. Including you and me. So why not stand proud in being created in his likeness, in God deciding to put his spirit in us, in God surrounding us in his love. It’s a good thing, as long as we dont become conceited or prideful about it. Let’s remember, God didnt have to do it. He is all poweful, all wonderful and all self-sufficient. So he doesnt really need us. (Job 38:1-12)
But praise God for his mercy and grace and the plans he set up for us before we were even thought about. Thank God for his redemption plan and for him still wanting to save us and bring us into his family; calling us his own. (He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, – 2 Timothy 1:9)
If anyone should feel proud to call him our Lord, saviour and father, it should be us believers. We are free from sin and are free to live lude that pleases the one who saved us, created us, loved us and whose spirit dwells in us. I don’t know about you, but that seems like something to stand proud about.
Come, let us bow down in worship,
let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture the flock under his care. – Psalm 95:6-7
