We All Have Bad Days

Every so often I struggle with having confidence and I know I’m not the only one who deals with that.
And you ladies know me. Again, its ok. Again its ok. The key to having those down moments is to not wallow in those moments. Because when you wallow in those feelings of self-doubt, uncertainty, fear, etc, it gives the enemy a open door to come in and pick at you about other things. I know this because I have seen it and have experienced it personally myself.

I became really depressed and uncertain about everything and never felt good enough and began to dip into other things that were not ok so I could feel better. And it didn’t work. It made me feel worse.
What did work was me getting myself back to Christ completely. And at this point I was in college and it was then after I was away from home that I knew I needed God to change my life and remove that feeling of depression from me or I would lose my life.
I gained that Christ confidence and that type of confidence is truly unshakeable. Even when you do have a down day. Just don’t let that down day turn into your way of life. Instead find the comfort in God’s word in those down times so when you do struggle you can go back to that reservoir from when you had your devotion time with the Lord.

Elizabeth George, author of A Woman After God’s Own Heart, talks about drawing life from God’s word and how important it is to develop a root system anchored deep in Him. She references Jeremiah 17:7-8 and points out that, “the reservoir she (we) has stored up from God’s word will sustain her through the fiery trials, no matter how long they last!” God’s word is our guideline to how we should live our life and how to live out His will even on a bad day.
We’re not perfect. We worry, we get tired, we can be afraid at times and even panic. But we know a prince of peace who can calm us in any of our struggles.

“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” – Colossians 3:15
