How Can I Embrace My Womanhood?

I asked a few women, both in the church and a few outside of the church, a simple question, “What is your favorite part about being a woman?”
I heard answers like, the clothes, dressing up, feeling pretty, makeup, stuff like that. Then I asked another question, “How would you feel if someone made you feel bad about expressing yourself as a woman?”
The answers than changed to confused, unsure of oneself, I’d feel bad or sad. These ladies instantly started to second guess their own identity as soon as the opinion of another came into play. And I know I have felt that same way before. One moment your good to go and are feeling self-assured and then an opinion or experience alters how you feel. Of course you don’t want it to but it can be hard.

Here is something that I want us ladies to remember and truly take to heart. Its vital. Don’t let anyone make you feel bad about being a woman. And don’t let anyone make you feel bad about expressing yourself as a woman.
We have a strength and a brilliance that is God given and can never be taken away. God created us ladies truly unique. (Ephesians 2:10) And one thing that I know is that God does not make mistakes. He knows all about you. All about us.

My security as a woman lays in the fact that God created me just as He intended. (Psalm 103:14) And no one is going to make me second guess my God’s decision. Or the light I have that comes from the Lord. And we as women of God need to listen out for the Lord’s voice and tone out the voices of others.
Again, it’s ok. Express yourself. Be a woman. Unashamed.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” – Matthew 5:14-16
