How Can We Be Better Church (prt. II)

The first thing we need to individually look at is knowing who we are. Knowing who we are in Christ.

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

1) Knowing who you are in Christ

Why Is This Important?
When you know who you are in Christ, all the opinions and ideologies that others want to place on you will begin to no longer matter and will go in one ear and out the other.
There are so many voices out there that want to detour us from being the woman God called us to be. And sometimes those voices from family, friends or even inside the church. But God has chosen each one of us women for a godly purpose. And has adopted us into his family. Those God has called with big personalities, expressive wit, even small personalities. They all still are fit for the building of God’s kingdom.
So when we link with God and seek His face, whole-heartedly, all other voices will be toned out so that all we hear is God. (He replied, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.” Luke 11:28)

Another thing that we women need to know is that its alright to shine bright for the Lord.

Song of Solomon 4:7 “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.”

2) Knowing its More Than OK to be Yourself

Why Is This Important?
Again, I can’t say it enough. God has selected all of us to have the gift of salvation. We all don’t look the same, we all don’t have the same backgrounds or personalities or gifts. And that is what makes the kingdom of God so amazing to be apart of. God can use anybody, with any talent and any personality.

So who came up with this idea that all Christians must be the same? Yes, we all follow Christ and have the spirit of God in us, but we’re all not walking around in prayer pose, with our heads bowed mumbling scriptures to ourselves to show others how holy we are. That’s just not realistic. There is real life happening. God wants us to use our gifts, talents, possessions, personalities to the fullest for the kingdom. And that requires authenticity. So why cheat yourself or cheat God. Just be the woman he has called you to be.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10
